The IDC connector devices were developed by the Bell Laboratories for communication connections with an exceptionally long lifespan of 40 years and have clearly superior contact and failsafe characteristics compared to conventional soldered connections. The cable material has been developed by LEUNIG together with a German cable manufacturer. The conductor layout is optimized specifically for parallel ports and already conformed to IEEE 1284 years before this standard was introduced. The special double copper screen guarantees the fulfilment of all EMC requirements. Special housings(also developed by LEUNIG together with a Swedish specialist) and a careful screen termination further improve EMC properties. In addition to its outstanding electrical properties, the cable is exceptionally flexible and has a high mechanical strength. |
